Team Mind BMX was set up in 2015 by old school BMX racers who wanted to make a difference. Mental health problems affect 1 in 4 people, and 1 in 3 in the media/PR industry, and is a growing issue not only for adults but also for young people.
The team has grown from a small gang of older riders to a team of 20 representing and raising awareness of an important issue and an important charity. To date, the team has raised over £3,000 for Mind, and is set to hold its second annual end-of-season fundraiser race on 1 October at Bournemouth BMX track. Last year's event was huge fun, with King of Dirt and pump lap racing accompanying a day's competition on one of the best tracks in the country.
We're really proud to have riders repping for Mind, and super-stoked that Sam, Luke and Pat are heading to the Worlds this week.
All riders use DMR pedals.
